Today's words

diapause \DYE-uh-pawz\ - a period of physiologically enforced dormancy between periods of activity

estivate, aestivate \ESS-tuh-'vayt\ - 1.  to spend the summer usually at one place  2.  to pass the summer in a state of torpor — compare hibernate
A couple of words that fit my wiped out frame of mind and body today.
estival, aestival \ESS-tuh-vuhl\ -  of or relating to the summer
I'm pretty sure I had heard of this one before, which is probably why the previous one seemed familiar, too.
