Today's words

Today's WOTD isn't new to me, but the Test Your Memory bit was a word I missed on a Sunday last month:

myrmidon / MER-muh-dahn/ - a loyal follower; especially : a subordinate who executes orders unquestioningly or unscrupulously
At least one, and perhaps both, of the current major party presidential candidates seem to have no shortage of myrmidons and sycophants.
And there are too many delightful new and familiar words with 19th century origins in this article to list them now . . .
